Autism Works Entrepreneurship (AWE)
Entrepreneurs with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have great ideas and ambition, but due to stigmas and other societal barriers, they often lack access to resources, business skills, and tactical support to bring their initiatives to life. AWE aims to empower the ideas and talents of entrepreneurs with ASD by providing business consultation around building and scaling sustainable businesses. Through this partnership, we are working to change the narrative around the abilities of individuals with ASD, and explore entrepreneurship as a source of viable employment for people with ASD.
Public Relations
This role will assist AWE in reaching out to individuals and organizations who can assist in the project’s delivery, sourcing or other support. They will maintain communication with external contacts, and keep detailed records of how each connection can support AWE’s mission. This will give the delegate an opportunity to expand their communication skills and network directly with business professionals.
Additional skills the delegate must have is:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- An eagerness to connect AWE with new partners
- Interest in the entrepreneurial environment
- A curiosity to explore many paths and options for AWE
- Outgoing and friendly mannerisms

MARKET Researcher
This position will help AWE by researching trends regarding entrepreneurship in the ASD community. They will help conduct a needs assessment with current individuals involved in AWE and find ways to promote the project. This will give the delegate excellent experience in making marketing and promotional decisions based on data, as well as provide them with networking potential.

GreenBiz: Sustainability Consulting Project
GreenBiz is a new project in partnership with Canadian Tire that aims to empower small and local business owners to achieve energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation. Our consulting teams work one-to-one to provide tailored solutions to these businesses, helping them transition to a low-carbon economy while encouraging others to follow. Currently, GreenBiz is in an implementation phase where we are looking for passionate students to put our project’s plan into motion!
Project Delegate
The candidate in this position will gain hands-on experience in a consulting environment, where they will directly be involved with working one-on-one with a local business in Calgary. They will be responsible for communicating with businesses about project activities, coordinating meetings between businesses and project directors, and maintaining overall relations. Additionally, candidates will implement sustainability practices and perform in-depth research and analysis on specific sustainability issues assigned. By joining GreenBiz, the candidate will be greatly involved with our project’s mission while honing their leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Empower
Business Skills Training operating with the intention of assisting immigrant women looking to start their own businesses. Many women come to Calgary with a vision of running their own small businesses out of their homes but are overwhelmed with the amount of bureaucracy that they have to deal with to start their own company. The problem is not that these women lack the skill or drive to be successful, but rather, that they don't know where to begin. This is where Empower comes in.
Empower aims to teach women the basics of starting a business - everything from accounting and marketing to making a business plan and acquiring funding. Over the course of several sessions, women will be educated on the numerous steps required to start their own businesses. With the help of a mentor, these women will prepare a business plan and present it to our team for the opportunity to secure some seed capital for their own business endeavours.

We will developed a research-based curriculum that introduces Income, budgeting, Assets & saving, stock & index funds, interest, and debt/liability, as well as informed decision-making to middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. Our purpose is to introduce these topics as an educational foundation for future inclusive employment or volunteer and work opportunities. This innovative project adapts traditional financial literacy models to be highly accessible to students of varying abilities.

- Students fulfilling this role are asked to research and create educational presentations regarding the following topics: Defining Income, expenses and budgeting, assets and saving, stock and index funds, compound interest/ time value of money, as well as debt and liability

Telera (Previously CINQ)
Telera (Previously known as Cinq) is a project under Enactus Calgary that acts as a student-run advisory committee that aims to provide valuable experience for students, not-for-profit organizations and social enterprises.

Key Results:
- Prospect at least 3 potential brand partnerships for the Impact Society.
- Develop marketing materials for these sponsorship offerings with assistance from the Brand Ambassador.
- Report on the active leads and ensure Salesforce is up to date with lead information.
