PossABILITY believes that financial literacy is for everyone. We developed a 6-week research-based curriculum that introduces budgeting, volunteer and work expectations, financial safety, and informed decision-making to high school students with diverse learning needs. Our purpose is to introduce these topics as an educational foundation for future inclusive employment or volunteer and work opportunities. This innovative project adapts traditional financial literacy models to be highly accessible to students of varying abilities.
Goals for 2018/2019:
1) Expand into more classrooms across the calgary area.
2) Create a curriculum for the Calgary Board of education’s Paced Learning Program
3) Help students across Calgary with diverse learning needs gain valuable employment
